Who We Are

Samsung Design Membership is a program supported by Samsung Electronics that provides opportunities of limitless creative activities for students who have interests in design. The program supports students in developing design knowledge and gaining actual work experience through design research and industrial activities that help them become professional designers. Furthermore, it also helps students learn convergent knowledge with experts in different fields including engineering, humanities, and business to emerge as creative professionals suitable for the new era.

Samsung Design Membership is operated by a self-governing council. Members autonomously participate in department activities, various events, and promotions, setting their own agendas and goals. In addition, those who complete the Samsung Design Membership program continue to actively engage with current members to establish and foster a design community that goes beyond being a simple educational program.

Samsung Design Membership first started in 1993 and have since produced almost 700* completed members who are now active in countless different scenes of design, including Samsung Electronics as well. Currently there are around 50 members recruited from various universities who are actively engaged in diverse fields such as ID, or UX.

Design Voyagers

A team of Design Voyagers who discover new values and establish unique territories through various methods of design.

Samsung Design Membership has fostered design talents of the future through a diverse program and an open environment in which prospective designers could freely learn and grow. Samsung Design Membership presents a new vision of commissioning ‘Design Voyagers’. Members of the Samsung Design Memberships who each have unique backgrounds and strengths will gather to discover values hidden throughout our daily lives through various methods of ‘design’ in an effort to establish a unique presence for designers. Samsung Design Membership will continue its valiant quest towards providing positive influence over the world through this creative group of Design Voyagers.
