Samsung recently welcomed world-renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid and architect Fabio Novembre, to engage with its in-house design teams in a special session aimed at inspiring creativity and expanding the boundaries of innovation. The event was held on September 26, 2025 at Samsung’s Seoul R&D Campus.
Karim Rashid - “Creativity is the Courage to Express Your Own Voice”
Karim Rashid opened the seminar with the message, “To be is to create.”, sharing his vision of design and creativity. He emphasized that creativity is not merely about making something new, but about having the courage to be authentic and to share one’s true voice with the world. He explained that originality comes from expressing individuality with clarity, while resisting imitation and nostalgia ? a philosophy that strongly resonated with the audience.

Fabio Novembre - “Who Are You?”
Fabio Novembre took the stage under the theme “Who are you.” Sharing his distinctive vision as an architect, he spoke about the deep interconnectedness of space, nature, and humanity. Through examples of his projects and creative journey, he illustrated how design can serve as a language that weaves together historical roots, human emotion, and the future?offering profound insights to the participants.

Panel Discussion - Exploring the Creativity under Humanity
The session concluded with a panel discussion led by President Mauro Porcini, featuring Karim Rashid and Fabio Novembre, where design philosophy and approaches to innovation were explored with the design teams. The discussion highlighted how human-centered design can shape everyday experiences, the role of emotional values in an increasingly connected world and the pursuit of sustainable future grounded in humanity.
